The ValguLoc postural splint is used to assist in the correction of a misalignment of the big toe (hallux valgus, bunion). It can be used as part of a conservative treatment to try and keep the misalignment from getting worse or after surgery.
The orthosis holds the toe in the correct axis while non-weightbearing by applying a slight force to keep the bone straight and stretches shortened parts of the capsule and soft tissues. It is worn only without shoes. ValguLoc supports the aligned position of the big toe after surgery or prevents a misalignment from getting worse. It is used during the night as a postural splint.
The pressure is that is applied to the toe and be continuously adjusted using the Velcro fastening. The anatomically contoured stabilizing orthosis helps to align your toe and is not suitable for walking.
